Video and Sound Production - Project 2
Project 2 - Visual Effects Video Shooting
For this project we have to create our own video with the use of visual effects.
Week 1
For the first week our task was to do our research by watching videos of
Zach King who is famously known for his over the top visual effects. With
this we are supposed to choose 3 videos that we find the inspiration
from.
Figure 1.0 - Grocery Video
Figure 1.0 - Grocery Video
Figure 1.2 - Socks
Figure 1.3 - Ghost
From watching these videos I found different elements from each of these videos that I would like to implement in my work.
Week 3
On week 3, we had to made finalise our story and make a plot segmentation. After we finalised the visual effects we wanted to use, we had to find tutorial videos on youtube. Then I had to come up with a story around the visual effects and then wrote down the plot segmentation.
Title: Spooky
Story(Max 30 words):
L wakes up in the morning still tired. She had an early start to the day. She started getting ready and her socks started moving around, then she duplicated the socks through the mirror. After this she tried to have breakfast but she ran out of milk, so she searched for a picture of the milk and grabbed from the screen
Plot Segmentation
- Wakes up late and is still feeling tired.
- L gets ready and tries to put socks on
- The socks start moving around
- Duplicate socks in the mirror.
- Goes to get breakfast and find out she ran out of milk
- Googles milk and grabs it out of the screen.
Week 4
Create story board by identifying the shots for each scene.SC 1
Shot 1 - C.U.S - Alarm clock
Shot 2 - M.C.U - Waking up tired
Shot 3 - W.S Gets ready and tries to put socks on and socks start moving around
Shot 4 - W.S - walk towards the mirror
Shot 5 - Over-the-shoulder - facing the mirror to duplicate socks.
Shot 6 - Full body shot - Ready and head to breakfast
SC 2
Shot 7 - M.S - Adds cereal to bowl and checks milk, but milk is empty
Shot 8 - Close-up shot - grab milk from screen
Shot 9 - Medium shot - Pour the milk and have breakfast
Storyboard: Take pictures for every shot in 16:9 aspect ratio
With received feedback I had to add a few extra essential seconds to make the video look more complete. Over all the idea was to make this look a bit spooky, quiet but eerie with the ambient sounds and the added sound effect.
Final Outcome
