Final Reflection

Experience

The first thing I felt when I started this module was anxious. I think this is because I have never felt that I was one to read and a lot, even worse when it comes to writing.  It wasn’t something that I was used to and was a very overwhelming feeling before even starting the module. What helped me get out of that head space of “this is too difficult” or “ i don’t think i know enough to write this” is taking it step by step and week by week. It was very helpful to me that the overall design of the module is laid out in a way that didn’t rush me. And i was able to complete my tasks on time without  much pressure. 

Observation

For the first task we had to provide a draft of the whole dissertation. We had 7 weeks to complete this. Since we already had almost half of the dissertation written when we did the research module, it made it even less stressful, moreover I only had to recollect a little bit just by reading the research I had done. As for the second assignment, I was quite nervous because we had to submit the final dissertation to Turnitin. I made sure that I followed the feedback from the first assignment and in addition to that i paraphrased most of my discussion section as well. Because most  of my research is based on previous research and interviews. As for the design of the e-book, I was going for something that matched well with my topic but also didn’t look too bland. When it came to the last assignment, it wasn’t too difficult for me. I knew and understood most of my dissertation materials. The only place o had trouble in was understanding how the information is put out in an article that is different to a dissertation. This was overcome when Dr Jinchi helped me and explained what I can do in order to make those corrections. 

Findings

Writing this dissertation has helped me improve and gain a lot of skills. I think that the best skill I have obtained from this module is my ability to find information. And being able to read through many research articles have  helped me gain so much knowledge not only about my topic of research but also understanding about other topics that surround it. The best feeling for me in the end was the fact that I was able to do something that I truly felt that i wont be able to do. I think that overall i am happy with the result I put out. I could not have done this without the help of Dr Jinchi. I am truly grateful. I know  when a situation like this arises next time, I would do an ever better job.
