Professional Development Week - Reflection Report
The professional development week is a week where we had to participate in different workshops in order to prepare us for the real world professional work life. With these work shops we get to learn and absorb important values for personal and career growth. We had to partake in sic hours of this workshop. Some of them being compulsory and the rest was up to us to choose from, from a rage of different classes.
The first class we had to take was compulsory for us. It was called Financial Literacy for Fresh Graduate. This talk was given to us by ALLIANZ. We acquired some important money management techniques in this class. we develop healthy financial habits by learning about budgeting, saving, investing, and debt management. This information enables us to make educated decisions and build a secure financial future,
The next workshop was called “Career Readiness & Employability Success: 10 Quick Top Tips That Will Help Graduates Get Hired” by MBSB BANK. In this workshop, we learnt how to make a compelling resume and optimise it. Additionally, by thoroughly researching potential companies, can acquire useful and appropriate skills to make sure you are prepared for interviews. We must demonstrate our passion for our work by looking professional. Following up after the interview will provide a well-rounded approach.
Participants in the WSVS STUDIO workshop "Succeeding in a Multi-Role Creative Media Industry" learned insightful tips from a experienced professional. He talked casually about his path from attending university, to starting out in the industry to attaining his current position. The workshop provided inspiration and practical knowledge for navigating the dynamic landscape of the creative media industry.
After this, the next workshop was called “Best Practices in LinkedIn & Professional Online Etiquette” a talk given by PwC. provided participants with advice on how to make their LinkedIn accounts stand out. Participants acquired skills in professional manners, networking, and building a strong internet presence. PwC's experience gave valuable insights into how to use digital platforms for networking and career advancement.
WOLF TRAINER's "Networking & Personal Branding" workshop provided an insightful look at developing business connections and creating a strong personal brand. I acquired useful knowledge about how to improve my internet presence, network effectively, and demonstrate my unique value in the workplace.
And the last workshop that I participated in was called “The Storyteller & Super-Producer: Lessons from the Creative Media Industry” by C47 CREATIVE. The special guest for the session turned out to be Zabrina Fernandez, a well-known television producer from Malaysia. We had the opportunity to ask her questions, discuss her successful media career, and get some advise from her on how to be ready for the working world.
Overall, aking part in the Professional Development Week has been extremely beneficial and has provided a plethora of insight. I'm keen to apply these fresh viewpoints and strategies because I know they will help me achieve my goals and make a big difference in both my personal and professional development.
